Rare Book Hub: 36 Auctions Archived, another 38 Upcoming this Week

For the week ended Friday, 3 September 2021. Thirty-six auctions were archived to Rare Book Hub’s Transactions+ Database, 1 denominated in Australian dollars, 1 in Danish krone, 7 in euros, 2 in British pounds, 1 in Mexican pesos, 23 in US dollars and 1 in South African Rand.

 

Turnover was $5,113,263 as 87% of all lots sold.  There were 8,856 lots posted and 7,735 changed hands.  The average lot sold for $661.

 

On Monday 6 September the fall auction season for books, manuscripts, maps and ephemera begins.  This past spring the number of sales, lots and dollars posted and achieved were very strong.  The fall numbers will tell us a riveting story.
