Rare Book Hub: 20 Auctions Archived, another 23 Upcoming this Week

For the week ended Saturday 18th August 2018 20 auctions were archived to the Rare Book Hub Transaction Database; 1 denominated in euros, 1 in British pounds, and 18 in US dollars.  Turnover was $2,791,709 as 6,321 lots were offered and 5,122 sold for an 81% success rate.  In what are traditionally the doldrums of summer there continue to be flashes of lightning.  The auction houses slow for well-earned vacations while the auction addicted paw through the summer’s traditionally thin offerings to find reasons to collect, I among them, for tomorrow an interesting lot arrives and another prepares to enter the rooms.  For those who love the material they collect there are no days off any more.
