The 7th Annual NYC Book and Ephemera Fair at the Church of St. Ignatius. 980 Park Avenue, NYC.

New York, NY—On March 6-7, 2020, the NYC Book and Ephemera Fair returns to Wallace Hall in the Church of St. Ignatius (Park Ave. at 83rd Street) for its seventh straight year during NY Rare Book Week. This is the satellite fair to the NY Antiquarian Book Fair and offers a continuous free shuttle rides to and from the Park Avenue Armory for both days.
The NYC Book and Ephemera Fair is proud to host sixty world-class dealers from twenty states, plus Canada and Italy, who are primed to offer their best stock, including an 1875 World Atlas, replete with cartographic depictions of the moon, by Adolf Stieler; a rare surviving copy of History of the Borden Murders (1893), by Edwin Porter, which acquitted axe murder suspect Lizzie Borden tried to have the entire print run destroyed; and a signed, unopened copy of Bob Dylan's 2017 Nobel Prize lecture (one of only a hundred copies). It is not unusual to find an item offered at this fair in the morning over at the Armory fair by the afternoon!
Other exceptional pieces on offer during these two days of fabulous bibliophilia include: a first edition of Mohandas Gandhi's two-volume autobiography, The Story of My Experiments with Truth (1927), with rare dust jackets; a museum-level, pristine copy of Joseph Heller's Catch-22 (1961); and a 1719 edition of Henry Care's English Liberties or the Freeborn subject's inheritance (1680), which lobbied initial complaints against the British monarchy regarding taxation without representation and would become a seminal text in the American colonies during the Revolutionary War era.
Collectors of the strange, macabre, and/or futuristic can also expect several notables, including a first edition (with rare dust jacket) of Lord Dunsany's The Chronicles of Rodriguez (1922)—a major influence on the work of H.P. Lovecraft; as well as a near-perfect copy of Isaac Asimov's Foundation (1951), the rare Currey binding edition, with a signed postcard by the author tucked inside.
