The 2015 Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair

In Seattle at the site of the 1962 World’s Fair the Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair will open its doors to the field over the October 10th-11th weekend.  It is consistently a major bookselling event and warrants this year, as it has for more than 2 decades, the complete and undivided attention of bibliophiles who, like moths, are attracted to the light.  This year’s light source are the 97 participating dealers.

Louis Collins, the fair organizer since 1997 said the show is in transition.  The older dealers are slipping away and are difficult to replace.  But there is also a new generation of dealers emerging to replace them.  It’s a challenge.  I’m certainly optimistic about the collectors.  They are a younger group, who honed their collecting skills on the internet, and come to the fair to learn more and to buy.  They make the show very worthwhile.

Hours:  Saturday October 10th 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Sunday October 11th 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
