Auctions in December

A busy start leading to a well earned rest

A busy start leading to a well earned rest

The book, manuscript, map and ephemera auctions in December complete what has been a strong run through the fall season.  Weeks now see what used to be annual volumes.  Many dealers report their sales are also strong.  Whether this is a cyclical economic recovery or a more fundamental shift to auctions is now the subject of debate.  What is not subject to debate is the breath of material that will soon be sold. The opportunities are many.

Hi Bruce,

It would be a great help to me (and I suspect others) if you could provide guidance as to the composition of the upcoming auctions. As a collector of first edition science documents, I can report that while your auction list is very helpful, it would be even more so if lots were tagged by category so as to allow searches of "science" for example. I am not going to look through all the lots of every auction, so am left with the imperfect alternative of searching using keywords like atom, quantum and Einstein.
