A Catalogue of Catalogues from Frits Knuf Antiquarian Books

One of Edmund Curll's Pope's Head catalogues.

One of Edmund Curll's Pope's Head catalogues.

Item 95 is a Catalogue of Books in the Library of the House of Commons. Published in 1830, this is the first catalogue of the House of Commons' library, which was founded in 1818. Reminiscent of the first American Library of Congress, the House of Commons' library was consumed by fire in 1834. Much of the material herein described was lost in that tragic blaze. €375 (US $537).
