George Mackley's Drawbridge.

George Mackley's Drawbridge.

Here is an item with a bonus: Sixteen Poems in Verse and Wood. Wood cut & engraved by George Lockwood. This was published by the Cricket Press in 1965, one of 150 copies. Bernard Bockes wrote the poems to go along with Lockwood's illustrations. The copy has been signed by both Lockwood and Bockes. As a bonus, which probably made more sense in 1965 than it would today, the book comes with a 45 rpm recording in the rear pocket of Bockes reading his poetry. Hopefully you still have an old turntable around. Item 28. $750.

Everyone likes a drawbridge. There aren't that many any more, but fortunately, George Mackley has captured one for us. George Mackley was a notable English wood engraver and artist of the 20th century. His Drawbridge is shown in the image to the left. This is one of 75 copies, signed and titled by Mr. Mackley. Item 48. $300.
