Description Mealy's Auctioneers was founded in 1934 by George Mealy. It is located in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The firm conducts auctions both on site and in Dublin and other locations around Ireland. It has experienced substantial growth over the years to become a major force in Irish auctions, with its focus on fine art, rare books, period furniture, decorative arts, memorabilia and collectibles. After the passing of the firm's founder, management passed to his sons, Fonsie and George, with the family's third generation also involved.

Mealy's generally conducts from 8 to 12 major auctions per year. Two of these are focused rare book auctions. Specialties include books of Irish and general interest, fine bindings, sets of periodicals, maps, scrap albums, Anglo-Irish literature, signed copies and limited editions, special press books, local and other historical works, topographical items, Irish republican items, art and architectural reference books, travel books; Irish language books, children's books, and more.
