One of A Kind Collectibles, a division of Gindy Auctions, are specialists in collectible paper in its many forms. For the past 17 years the firm has been offering rare and collectible material at auction. On October 17th they will sell a fresh assortment of material.
Featuring a collection of signed documents, rare memorabilia, and historical artifacts from some of the most iconic figures in history, science, aviation, entertainment, and the arts. This highly anticipated event will showcase items that have left a permanent mark on history, including an Abraham Lincoln rare signed letter on Executive Mansion stationery to the secretary of the Navy. An extremely rare letter written while onboard the ship the Hornet signed by American naval hero James Lawrence who uttered the famous “ Don’t Give up the ship! The quotation is still a popular naval battle cry.
Founding Fathers: Signed documents from Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, and John Jay.
Literary Treasures: A 1623 first folio leaf from William Shakespeare's work, approximately 14 leaves from 15th century illuminated manuscript, and more, nestled within an extra-illustrated edition of Dibdin’s book on collecting. A very rare Benjamin Franklin publication printed in 1762 on the subject of slavery. A fine autograph album with the Rare signature of James A. Garfield as president. Literary and Music collectors will be delighted with an Ernest Hemingway oversized signed photo, complete with an inscription about his love for drinking. A George Gershwin signed copy of Porgy & Bess, one of the most significant American operas. Hector Berlioz: A musical quotation signed by the famed French composer. Louis Pasteur correspondence related to his groundbreaking work on rabies.
The diverse array of items spans centuries and genres, offering something for every collector and historian. From presidential documents to literary giants and scientific pioneers, this event is not to be missed.
