Using the Americana Exchange Resources to Their Fullest Potential
We have just completed our initial virtual tour of the multifaceted research avenues offered by the Americana Exchange and its various components. At this point, faithful reader, I am going to ask you to leave dear Great Aunt Harriet and her lovely collection of Theodore Roosevelt’s works back on your mental bookshelf and return magically to the present. Now it is your turn to go forth and conduct your studies of your own Americana–related topics, using this article as a guide to the basic potential functions of the main AE research modules. 1. This article, loosely defines Americana as texts (primarily books), illustrations, and artifacts printed, produced in, from, or about America and/ or materials reflecting or addressing a specific era or topic within what is generally called American History as a broader category.
