Book Fairs in London in June

Book fairs everywhere have assumed a gathering importance as shops have closed around the world.  Experience has long shown that collectors and institutions will go great distances to find the objects of their passion and experience has proven that shows work for the trade and the collecting public when these events share a common time and place.  So it is no surprise that the London fairs have coordinated their events to create in June an outstanding synergy by staging their affairs within a few days of each other.

On June 2nd in London at the Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury, Coram Street WCIN IHT an Ephemera Society Fair will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for the public and from 10:00am for card carrying members.  To quote the authorities, “A huge range of ephemera will be on display.  Admission BP3.-

Then beginning on Thursday 6th June at noon and extending to 7:00pm that evening, then followed on Friday the 7th from 10:00am to 7:00pm the PBFA London Antiquarian Book Fair will host more than 100 dealers showcasing rare books, maps, prints, ephemera and collector items at the ILEC Conference Centre, Ibis London Earls Court Hotel, 47 Lillie Road, London SW6 1UD.  This event is free.

Then there is Firsts, a grander Rare Book Fair held over 3 days; Friday 7th June:  12 noon – 8pm; Saturday 8th June: 11am – 7pm, and Sunday 9th June:  11am – 5pm  at Battersea Park, London SW8 4NW.  This fair has a decidedly international cast.
