Item 89 is one of the most important works of Spanish history, early history at least, as this first edition was published in 1592. It is Historiae de Rebus Hispaniae Libri XX, twenty volumes by the priest Juan de Mariana. The set would later be expanded to thirty volumes and reprinted for many centuries. While this was his great historical work, Mariana would become a controversial figure a few years later for his opinion that under certain, tyrannical circumstances, it was okay to bump off a king. £2,200 (US $4,343).

Now for something lighter. Item 21 is Caminos y Turismo (Roads and Tourism), published in 1923 by the Automobile Association of Valparaiso and Vina. This guide to traveling the roads of Chile in the early days of automobiling includes many photographs of antique cars. £130 (US $256).
