Item 106 is a run of issues 1-221 (there was a total of 223) of Il Lampione: Giornale pe tutti. This was a satirical newspaper published from 1848-1849 by Carlo Lorenzini. This was the time of revolution in Lorenzini's Tuscany and the other then separate states which would eventually unite to become Italy. His pro-independence from Austria sympathies put him at risk, so Lorenzini's name does not show up in these journals even though he published them until shut down by authorities. That's okay, because you probably don't recognize Carlo Lorenzini's name. However, you may recognize the pseudonym he began to use in 1856, Carlo Collodi. Collodi is famed for his later children's books, most notably as the creator of Pinocchio. $4,500.

Item 175 was an obscure, personal remembrance when it was privately published in 1945. The book is As We Remember Joe, and the then unknown author was John F. Kennedy. The book is a remembrance of his older Brother Joseph, who died during the Second World War. His father was grooming Joe to one day be president, but when he died during the war, that expectation fell to younger brother John. This copy is inscribed by John's younger brother, Robert Kennedy, to Gene Black, one of JFK's economic advisors, in 1965. $3,500.
