Six Hundred Children's Books from Aleph-Bet
Little Lulu and Kleenex were made for each other. Hopefully, Tubby isn't too jealous. It's not that Lulu had a particularly runny nose. She found other uses for those tissues. Item 240 is Little Lulu and her Magic Tricks, published in 1954. It is subheaded, “Things to make and do with Kleenex Tissues.” It is sort of Kleenex origami. You would think you would need something firmer than Kleenex to make these paper dolls and such, but Lulu was a magician. The book even comes with a package of Kleenex, which you can use as you see fit. $275.
Item 386 is its own sort of magic, The Turn-Around Book, by Alice Beardsley. This 1914 book contains illustrations which, when turned to a different angle, reveal a different picture. A couple of these illustrations are shown on this page, though turning your computer monitor to a different angle may be a bit more tricky. $450.
