The San Francisco Map Fair will take place in the Lodge at the Regency Center, 1290 Sutter St. in San Francisco, California.
Opening night Reception and Preview: September 21st, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Opening night is the perfect opportunity to meet map enthusiasts, academics, collectors, and dealers. This night is recommended for anyone that is looking for a good opportunity to speak with some of the foremost experts on antiquarian cartography, learn about the hobby of map collecting, and of course, get first look at thousands of maps before the weekend crowds.
The ticket includes…
Hors d'oeuvres, and a premium open bar.
FREE entry for the rest of the weekend.
Early entry, two hours before general admission on Saturday and Sunday.
Ability to move to the front of the line during general admission hours.
All NET proceeds from ticket sales to this event will support the History in Your Hands Foundation.
Tickets are $50 if purchased by July 31st
Tickets are $65 if purchased August 1st or later.
The San Francisco Map Fair is sponsored by the History in Your Hands Foundation (HIYHF), a non-profit organization with a mission to provide classrooms with authentic, historical objects in an effort to help foster a more enriched learning experience. The lecture series portion of the San Francisco Map Fair will be sponsored by the California Map Society. It will consist of three 40 minute lectures followed by a 10 minute Q & A period. The mission of the California Map Society is to preserve and disseminate historical and contemporary cartography, primarily of California, for members as well as the public. The society was formed as a statewide association in 1978 and incorporated as a California non-profit public benefit corporation in 1987.
