Against the Current: opening in St. Paul

- by Bruce E. McKinney

Hal. W. Johnson, opening in St. Paul

On Grand Avenue just down the street from Macalester College, in St. Paul Minnesota, the Against the Current used and rare Book Shop is busy preparing to open its doors to readers and bibliophiles.  The address is 1658 Grand Avenue in person and the soon to be live website:   www.booksagainstthecurrent.com.  Bibliopolis is busy building a website for the firm that Hal Johnson, the proprietor, expects to be a vital component of the shop’s sales and marketing.

The inventory will run from rare to scholarly, the focus on appealing content and collectible copies.

The hours have yet to be determined.

Most people involved with old books dream of having a shop that provides a nexus for authors, buyers and sellers.  In St. Paul that hope lives on and is expected to come to fruition sometime this month.
