Ten New Catalogues Reviewed This Month

- by Michael Stillman

Ten new catalogues.

This month we review 10 new catalogues, and this time, most of them cover a variety of subjects, rather than being targeted to a specific area of collecting. The Brick Row Book Shop offers a miscellany. Whitmore Rare Books presents a variety of subjects with their focus on importance and condition in their selections. Shapero Rare Books also offers 50 very fine books. James Cummins Bookseller similarly has a varied selection of exceptional books, with a variety available from the Antiquariaat Forum in their joint catalogue with Asher Rare Books. Samuel Gedge Ltd. has a wide selection of items though their focus is on different types of paper and ephemera beyond books.

On the other hand, Patrick McGahern Books targets a very specific niche appropriate for winter – the Arctic. The Veatchs Arts of the Book again features books that are either themselves works of art, or relate to the book arts. Stuart Lutz Historic Documents and Joe Rubinfine offer catalogues filled with autographed American documents.
